Father's Day--Are You Prepared?!?

It's that time again folks! FATHER'S DAY! If I know our Jamie, she probably has a million and a half things planned to surprise her sweet honey. Me, I am still working on being organized enough to realize 1) Father's Day is coming and 2) It's my job to make it fun! Luckily, I have something to fall back on this year: a card!

I designed it last year but forgot to actually GIVE it to the father's in my life (sorry guys...) so I'm going to pull 'em out, print 'em off, pretty 'em up, and give 'em out!

 Baby steps, right?

It's true that the mustache trend peaked right around last year--but the men in my life don't know that!

Would you like to make some cards too?

Step 1: Click here to download the image (without the watermark) and save it to your computer.

Step 2: Open the image. There are two cards side by side (why waste paper?)

Step 3: Print.  I like to use matte photo paper for my cards--it makes the colors brighter, and the blacks nice and deep.  But any cardstock will do great as well!

Step 4: See the part where the mustaches switch and are upside down (4.25" horizontally)?  That's where you fold the card.

Step 5: See the part in the middle where the mustaches get all messed up (5.5" vertically)?  That's where you cut them.  Voila!  Two mustache-y cards!

Step 6: Add some decorations. You could try any or all of my ideas or make up your own!
  • Tie a ribbon down around the bottom (it's like a bow tie--yes?).  I'm thinking bright red.
  • Emboss a few of the mustaches with an embossing ink pen and clear embossing powder.
  • Re-print the cards and cut out the "Happy Father's Day" and attach it in place with foam adhesive to make the title stick out.

Looks like I have some work to do! I should probably figure out what to do for my handsome man come Sunday...somehow I don't think "just a card"  will fill him with delight.  Any ideas?
I would love to hear if you use these cards--how did you make them manly-pretty (can you do that?!?)

  1. Adorable! I have a challenge for next year's card: make one about motorcycles or bungee jumping (or something else really dangerous) for my Mr. Safety husband.
